Write a blog on your website, include descriptive text in your web page image ALT tags, ensure consistent NAP (name, address, phone number) on all online listings of your business, create a Facebook page for your business, create “community focused” content on your website, try getting online reviews, donate to local charities and participate in local communities and forums, create an XML sitemap and submit it to Google Webmaster Tools, and make sure your website is mobile friendly.

  1. Thanks, but have anyone ever used eye tracking devices for website? I have heard that some software like cooltool.com or others are very useful. Can someone help me with more practical info?

    • Hi Tony, thanks for the comment. Haven’t tried out that tool but heatmap tools can be useful for seeing how people are browsing your pages. I’ve tried inspectlet.com and gives some interesting insights

  2. Hello David, I am running my online business from past 3 years. Initially when I started I started marketing using Meetup. Its really a great idea for socializing and your local business growth. According to me Google Business Listing should be the first step for any local business.
